4wd high clearance access allowed to Jim Jim Falls and Twin Falls
Set to Reopen 2027!
Important update: Jim Jim Falls will remain closed for 2026 dry season, due to road and infrastructure upgrades.
These two areas are accessible seasonally.
Traditionally speaking June 27th access to Jim Jim in Kakadu may open sometimes earlier and Twin Falls n Kakadu opens same time or a bit later.
It's not just the water over the road to Jim Jim Gorge it's also about the removal of any crocodiles from the Jim Jim Billabong walk area.
What happened in n 2026 with Jim Jim Falls and Twin Falls remained closed for works by Parks Australia.

Jim Jim Falls Road: Upgrades for a 19.25 km section of Jim Jim Falls Road to gravel standard which will improve the safety and amenity of this roadway.
Secondary and tertiary road upgrades in the Jim Jim area include upgrades to several floodways and natural spring crossings along the 4WD tracks between Karnamarr Campground, Jim Jim Falls and Twin Falls (Jim Jim Falls 4WD track, and the Twin Falls 4WD track).
