Tour and Self Drive Road Trip - Suggested Physical Fitness Ratings:

Fitness Ratings: Physical fitness suggested rating:
Alongside every trip maybe a good idea to note physical ratings. These are designed to give you an idea of how demanding (or not) each day trip is.

1 out of 5: Leisurely paced day trips. Minimal physical exertion required. Walks usually around 1 to 2 klm over reasonable level terrain.

2 out of 5: Trips that include easy walking. Walks usually around 6 klm over the course of a day over uneven terrain.

3 out of 5: Trips that include easy walking. Walks usually around 10 klm over the course of a day over uneven terrain. These walks that’ll get your heart rate up and extended periods in the elements. (18-40 age group tours we recommend L3 as the group is younger and generally lead a more active faster pace. A 14 Day broome to Darwin would be considered a level 3.

4 out of 5: Fairly basic camping on most nights, limited amenities and some very long (and challenging) walks most days on this road trip. A high level of fitness required. such as a 30+++ day Perth to Darwin overland trip through the Kimberley and exploring and hiking most days.

5 out of 5: The hardest of the hardcore. Long trips to remote destinations with limited facilities. Excellent health and fitness is essential. (This would be a 21 day Canoe Trip on the Wickham River L3 to L5)
