Tips:

Watch out for that stretch of road Ross River Homestead to Arltunga - I hit a cow hidden by a dip in the road in 1996 - cow was annoyed and so too my hood. The side of the road had a lot of bull dust banks.
Make sure your 4WD camper rental is equipped for remote travel, with a spare tire, water, and fuel.
