TA- Y-FQBR 4wd Car - Mitsubishi Triton GSR and new Kia Tasman SX+
TA- Y-FQBR 4wd Car - Mitsubishi Triton GSR and new Kia Tasman SX+
Lead Model is Mitsubishi Triton GSR (means most of the fleet currently is this model)
Allowed on select unsealed road.
The vehicles we are using in this category are Mitsubishi Triton GSR and new Kia Tasman SX+ - both are exceptional 4wd vehicles with powerful but extremely economical turbo diesel engines, automatic transmission and a full suite of electronic driving aids and technology. I personally have experienced fuel economy in these vehicles of 7.2 litres/100 klms - both have similar sized tanks of around 75 litres capacity. CEO Darwin.
Both are fitted with bull and tow bars, high quality rough terrain tyres x 6, and a high-quality fibreglass rear canopy with central locking. The second spare is securely mounted in the rear of the vehicle within the canopy covered area.
We are fitting dust protection kits to the rear canopy area to minimise the dust issue however I doubt that we will be able to stop all of it - we have seen dust ingress in the latest model Prado as well so we are unable to stop it 100% - such is the nature of the Gibb River Road in particular.
